Week after hooking myself....

Today we started out cutting the boat cloth and the double bias cloth so we can vaccuum bag it on tomorrow. once we had that all cut out we started to wax the cabintop front deck, we have to do 5 coats today and one coat polyvinyl alcohol after all of that, each coat needs to be rubbed on in little circles, then left for 5minutes then rubbed off and left for half an hour to dry, then we start all over again..

Day 2 19th October 2010

2nd day back was more productive started out fitting more foam around the window frames and then down the back through the deck edge.. see pic

after that i began to help liam scott and adam glass the anchor box for the 2nd time, not sure if the first time was a muck up or if they just wanted to make it strong. started out ok with liam mixing the resin and scott holding the (boat cloth?) and i was brushing the resin into the cloth to saturate it, but..... i used alot more resin than i should have and i had runs all through it luckily the peel ply will help that situation. once i had put the boat cloth on i had to wait 20minutes for the peel ply to put that on. should have had it cut out and ready to go but its something to work on next time.

i also gave jimmy a hand with the engine box fitting a panel on an 80degree angle jimmy had it all marked out and all the measurements ready to go. we cut the piece of laminated ply(he had also prepared that) cutting angles onto each edge as the engine box isnt parallel after cutting these to size we scribed and cut the curve on the aft section i rushed into sanding this edge as we needed to make a small bevell on the curve luckily jimmy was onto it and stopped me haha

so tomorrow we will cut the bevel and go from there..

First day back

first day back after three weeks on holiday was a shaky and slow start but finally got into it alistair and I eere fittingthe foam core aroundtbe cabin top edge and shaping it to the curve was pretty easy to do just took a while tolane it off evenly. Be fore that

Everyone has stopped now and are cleaning up, I have been watching fish and Jimmy work on the sole and shapingthe transom they r working steadily but the transom doesn't quite look right/ or the lines they had were not quite straight as it looked out of level. Bu they hav sorted the prob not sure what they did. Also was helping Ray router the edge of the hull he was starting the router while it was on the work and kicking out on him.
Liam Scott and Adam are in the front of the boat sortingthe anchor box out not exactly sure what they have been doing all day though.. Same on my behalf though.

Fingers crossed Tomorrow will be alot more productive so we dont have to come In Thursdays!!
